Normally I try to make these posts seem somewhat professional with a little righteous indignation thrown in - however, tonight - I must say I'm really pissed off.
Sam Brownback is a boil on the ass of humanity. In just a few months time - he has managed to do so much damage - to so many things. And the worst of it is - WE KNEW HE WOULD DO IT!
Defunding Planned Parenthood has been a wet dream of our misogynistic, neaderthal legislature for a few years now. Holy Emperor Sam made sure it happened - and now? Planned Parenthood in Hays, Kansas is more than likely going to close and patients in Wichita will no longer be able to take advantage of the non-profit's generous sliding scale. The delay tactics have worked and now real people are going to suffer.
Sam Brownback is the worst type of politician - the kind that tells you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, while he's stealing your boots. His draconian policies, his secrecy, his pettiness - all show a general disregard for at least half the population of the state. Women. He has done absolutely NOTHING to make the state of Kansas a better place to live. This end game with Planned Parenthood will result in only one thing - poor women being caught in the crossfire of a holy war. Low income families need access to family planning, cancer screenings, STI testing and contraception. Period.
As a citizen of the Theocratic Republic of Brownbackistan I fear for our future. Those of you that find party politics boring, or think both parties are the same - I want you to take a real, long, hard look at what is happening here. The GOP candidates are just like Brownback (in some cases even worse) - This is not what we need for America. I refuse to surrender my rights. Who's with me?
